Worth knowing

That "$99 whole-house special" is a bait ad - the real number appears once they are in your hallway, or the "clean" is a shop-vac at the register. We photograph the inside of your ducts before and after instead.

Meet the San Diego Team Behind Kestrel Air Duct San Diego

The crew at Kestrel Air Duct San Diego isn’t a rotating cast of subcontractors. We’re a small, steady team of four who’ve spent years crawling through the same crawl spaces and attics you have, from Clairemont to Chula Vista. What unites us is simple: we believe a written price, a clean job site, and a guarantee that actually means something shouldn’t be rare in this trade. Dale Whitmore set that tone in 2004, and every person on this page works under the same standard. You’ll see the same faces year after year. That’s intentional.

Our People

Marcus T. – Lead Technician

Marcus has been cleaning air ducts in San Diego for 14 years, the last 9 of them with Kestrel. He’s the one who trained on the Rotobrush rotary brush systems when most companies in the county were still running box-store shop vacs and hoping for the best. His specialty is older coastal homes, where decades of salt air and marine layer moisture turn duct interiors into something you’d rather not think about. Marcus is also the team’s resident skeptic, which serves our customers well. If a duct doesn’t need cleaning, he’ll tell you, and he’ll show you the photos to back it up. Off the clock, he rebuilds vintage Japanese motorcycles in his garage in Normal Heights.

Elena R. – Senior Installer & Dryer Vent Specialist

Elena joined Kestrel Air Duct San Diego six years ago after a decade in residential HVAC installation, and she handles the dryer vent side of every job we book. That means she’s the one who knows exactly how a lint trap bypass works, why negative-air extraction matters when you’re pulling debris from a vent run, and what a clogged transition duct does to dryer efficiency in a typical San Diego laundry room. She’s certified through the National Air Duct Cleaners Association and keeps her training current every year. Elena keeps a running list of the strangest things she’s pulled out of dryer vents, and no, she won’t share it while you’re eating. She’s originally from Escondido and coaches youth soccer on weekends.

Paul D. – Service Coordinator

Paul is the voice you hear when you call Kestrel Air Duct San Diego. He’s been answering our phones for seven years, which means he’s heard every question about air duct cleaning that exists and a few that don’t. His job is to give you a straight answer on pricing, explain what a written quote covers, and schedule a window that we actually hit. Before joining the Kingswell family, Paul worked in logistics for a shipping company in Kearny Mesa, and it shows. He runs the schedule with a level of precision that borders on irritating, which is exactly what you want when you’re taking a morning off work for a service call. Paul’s the guy who remembers your name on the second call, not just the first.

Danny S. – Apprentice Technician

Danny is the newest member of the team, in year two of his apprenticeship after graduating from a trades program at San Diego City College. He works alongside Marcus on most jobs, learning the Nikro negative-pressure units and the Abatement Technologies HEPA filtration systems that keep loosened particles out of your living space while we clean. Danny’s the one double-checking that drop cloths are down and that every register cover goes back exactly where it came from. He grew up in a Navy family in Point Loma, moved around a lot as a kid, and says he picked this trade because he likes fixing things you can’t see. Give him another season and he’ll be leading jobs of his own.

One Standard, Every Job

The Kingswell Way governs how every technician on this page behaves the moment they pull up to your home. It’s a written code, not a poster on a wall. It means the price is in your hands before a single vent is touched, the arrival window we gave you is the one we honor, and the job site gets left cleaner than we found it. It means the 365-Day Done Right Promise isn’t a sales line. If something falls short within the guarantee period, we come back and make it right at no charge. Every Kestrel location operates under this same standard, and every technician here in San Diego has signed on to it. Marcus, Elena, Paul, and Danny all know the rule: say the price, show up in the window, leave it cleaner, put the guarantee in writing. No exceptions, no fine print.
